Watch Robert Friedland at Astana International Forum explain the potential of high pulsed power technology

(May 29, 2025) I-Pulse Co-Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Robert Friedland, discussed the enormous potential of I-Pulse’s high pulsed power technology and its necessity to the energy transition, at the Astana International Forum in Kazakhstan.

Friedland explained how I-Pulse’s high pulsed power technology works to the Astana International Forum’s audience: “If you take that small quantum of energy and you squeeze it, and you release it in a billionth of a second, it has the power of a nuclear power plant for a billionth of a second.” “You can create a huge amount of power with a very small amount of energy.”

He went on to explain that high pulsed power’s applications include the ability “to crush and grind rock with a huge reduction in energy, and it can be used to look into the earth. We can see three kilometers deep and we can see water, gold, copper – we can see any electrically conductive metal, orders of magnitude more than we were able to even five years ago. This requires us to compress electrical energy and inject very powerful bursts of electrical energy into the earth.”

I-Pulse’s technology will transform the mining sector, making it far more energy efficient. This efficiency is essential as we look to mine the necessary critical minerals for the energy transition.
