David brings a wealth of both financial expertise and leadership skills to I-Pulse from his many years of experience as one of the world’s foremost financial advisors in technological, energy, mining and investments, with a particular focus on North American, Asian and African capital markets.
As Chief Financial Officer of I-Pulse, David leads the group’s capital strategy, investor relations and global expansion. David drives financial planning for the group’s breakthrough R&D initiatives and commercialization projects. He also manages I-Pulse’s global compliance across the U.S., Asia and Africa, navigating complex regulatory and cross-border tax environments. David advises the Board of Directors on investment structuring and global joint ventures. He partners closely with Chief Executive Officer Robert Friedland and senior executives to align finance with the group’s strategic technology roadmap..
David has served as a Director of Ivanhoe Capital Corporation in Singapore and Hong Kong since 1996. He was instrumental in structuring and scaling ventures, including Ivanhoe Atlantic, Kaizen Discovery and Ivanhoe Industries. David is also the Chairman of Wolmar Investments Ltd., a private investment company, a position he has held since November 2001. Prior to this, David served as a Senior Partner at Grant Thornton Hong Kong until 1996. During his decade-long tenure, he led advisory teams supporting public listings and cross-border M&A, oversaw and advised on all commercial activities, and audited multinational corporations across the Asia-Pacific region. David also mentored teams on global trade, international tax, audit standards and financial restructuring.
David qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1984 with Peat Marwick Mitchell & Co. (KPMG) in Sydney, Australia. He is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Australia, and a member of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He is also an extremely successful breeder of thoroughbred horses.
